Dear Cjuger,
I’ve got three awesome positions at ARC (Australian Research
Council), at their ERA (Excellence in Research for Australia) project. Positions close on 17 Dec, so act quick before Gershon does:)
1) JEE developer, selection criteria
(a) Be well versed in object oriented design and
development, including a well developed understanding of design patterns, UML
and iterative/agile development methodologies.
(b) Demonstrated ability to review and build software
components using Java/JEE, JSF, XML based Web Services and custom software
components. Experience in any of the following technologies would be highly
regarded: Eclipse, PostgreSQL, Linux and Unix.
** Browser Development – Demonstrated ability to review and
build software components using web based user interfaces, standards based
markup including XHTML and CSS.
(c) Experience with complex software requirements and be
able to apply their knowledge of software development within an enterprise
environment using industry and Government standards and best practice.
** Browser Development – Knowledge of W3C accessibility
standards and best practice.
(d) Demonstrated experience with software quality assurance
methods including: unit testing, regression testing, peer code reviews and
defensive programming.
** Browser Development – Ability to debug cross browser
compatibility issues..
(e) Operate flexibly within a small multi-disciplinary team
using excellent communications skills combined with strong analytical, problem
solving and documentation skills.
2) JEE architect, selection criteria
(a) Be well versed in systems architecture and object
oriented design --
including a thorough understanding of architectual design
patterns and
the UML.
(b) Demonstrated ability to design and specify software
components in a
technical environment characterised by Java/JEE, JSF, XML
and
third-party software modules. Experience in any of the
following
technologies would be highly regarded: Linux, PostgreSQL,
TCP/IP Networking.
(c) Experience in understanding complex software
requirements to deliver
best-fit software architectures for enterprise environments
applying
both industry and Commonwealth standards and best practices.
(d) Demonstrated experience with quality aspects of
applications
architecture including designing for characteristics such as
performance, reliability, security and maintainability.
(e) Operate effectively within a small multi-disciplinary
team using
excellent verbal and written communications skills combined
with strong
analytical and problem solving skills.
3) Business Analyst, if you know any BA friends looking for
work, look no more. Pass it on to them. This position closes 10 Dec.
Selection criteria:
(a) Have knowledge of and experience in object oriented
design, including a well developed understanding of UML and iterative and agile
development methodologies
(b) have excellent communication skills, attention to detail
and the demonstrated ability to capture and model business requirements
(c) have strong analytical, problem solving, and
documentation skills
(d) be able to apply their knowledge of industry standards
and best practice to requirements analysis, management and modelling
(e) experience on an enterprise level and experience
interacting and communicating with functional managers
(f) be a self-managing and self-starting individual
(g) an experienced user of the Enterprise Architect tool
