The National Library of Australia is looking for a suitable Java
contractor to fill the role described below.


Full-time (3 month contract) - commence March/April

Background:
The Library is building a workflow system for managing the Digital
Preservation process, including harvesting digital content from physical
media (e.g. CD-ROMs, floppy disks), extracting technical and
preservation metadata and ingesting the digital objects in the
preservation storage system. We require the services of a Java developer
to build the front-end web application for the workflow system, which
will integrate with business processes and web services.

Contract outcome/s:
*	Implement a front-end web application for the Digital
Preservation workflow system, based on the web and graphic design
provided and utilising processes and services developed by other members
of the project team.
*	Provide technical and code documentation for the web application
developed.

Essential skills/knowledge:
*	Experience with the proposed technologies for the solution:
Java, Spring MVC, Spring Webflow and XML/XSLT.
*	Experience in building REST-based web services client
applications in Java.
*	Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills.
*	Good written communication skills.
*	Proven ability to deliver working software solutions.

Desirable knowledge:
*	Experience with business process implementation.
*	Experience with Java Server Faces (JSF).
